The event was a huge success and brought together Papua New Guineans and West Papuans from all over to hear the Free West Papua message and show their support for the freedom struggle.

A concert was also held with songs played and dramas performed, symbolising the ongoing plight and struggle of the West Papuan people. Some more truly fantastic and colourful photos from the day can be seen on our main Facebook Page here.

Free West Papua Campaign PNG Coordinator, Fred Mambrasar spoke to the crowd about the Campaign and the need for more support from West Papua’s wantoks; the people of PNG. Parkop, the Governor of NCDC Port Moresby and Gary Juffa, the Governor of Oro Province also made speeches and talked of how PNG must rise up against the ongoing Melanesian genocide and illegal occupation just across the border.

We are very grateful to all the tremendous support from everyone on this historically day and are very confident that it has helped the Free West Papua Campaign in PNG to take a very significant step forward on the long road to freedom.

We look forward to seeing al of you who came and many other brothers and sisters as we continue to struggle for a Free West Papua!
